Today is Canada Day/Fête du Canada. On July 1st. 1967, the colonies of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the Province of Canada united to be The Dominion of Canada.
My camera batteries are recharged, and tomorrow I will have some pictures to share of the Calgary festivities. One of the events (a First Nations Powwow) will take place at Prince's Island. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the park today so Tristan, my coyote/German shepherd hybrid will have to stay at home at that time. I dismissed the idea of taking him anyway (with a sign around his neck saying "I'm not a dog, I'm a coyote hybrid"), so he will have to watch it all on TV. I'm not sure how he will respond to the fireworks later, either.
